IT’S the highly anticipated drama that will hit our screens soon – Toni Collette is to star in new BBC drama Wanderlust.

Here’s all you need to know about the Muriel’s Wedding star’s new drama by playwright Nick Payne.

When is Wanderlust coming on TV and what’s it about?

Wanderlust follows Joy Richards (Toni Collette) a therapist trying to find a way to keep her spark with her husband alive after a cycling accident causes them to reassess their relationship.

It covers stories of love, lust and forbidden desire as viewers meet their friends and family along the way.

Star of the show Toni Collette said: “I am honoured and thrilled to work with Nick Payne’s wonderful words on Wanderlust.

It is an authentic and revolutionary story about relationships, sex, love and all the things we really care about. I could not be more excited.”

Who is Toni Collette?

Toni Collette is an Oscar nominated actress and the star of Little Miss Sunshine and The Sixth Sense.

The Australian actress first burst onto the scene first in the 90s in Muriel’s Wedding, the searingly honest comedy that got her nominated for a Golden Globe.

She also stars in A Long Way down with former OO7 Piers Brosnan.

Toni married musician Dave Galafassi in 2003.

The couple have a daughter, Sage Florence and a son, Arlo Robert.

Who else is in it?

Toni is joined by Steven Mackintosh (A Song For Jenny, Stan Lee’s Lucky Man, The Halcyon), Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat, Not Safe For Work, Case Histories) and Royce Pierreson (Line Of Duty, Our Girl, Murdered By My Boyfriend) in the six-part drama.

Commissioned by BBC One and a co-production with Netflix, the series will premiere in the UK on BBC One and globally outside of the UK on Netflix.
