MARC MARQUEZ heads to Sunday’s Grand Prix in Austria a full 49 points ahead of Valentino Rossi in the MotoGP riders’ championship.
The Spanish rider took third place in Brno, one place ahead of the Italian.

The Spielberg circuit hosts fond if distant memories for Rossi, having claimed his maiden world championship podium there with third place in the 1996 125cc race.
But since the Austrian track’s return to the MotoGP calendar in 2016 the nine-time world champion has failed to reach the rostrum.

Rossi, who caught huge attention trialling Yamaha’s new fairing during the Brno test, wants to see improvements uncovered at the test translate at the Red Bull Ring this weekend.
He said: “The Austrian circuit has never been very positive or a favourite for us and last year we suffered.
