What is the Community Shield?
The Community Shield, or Charity Shield traditionally marks the start of the English football season.
Held the Sunday before the Premier League season start, the game sees the winners of the previous season’s league title (City) and FA Cup (Chelsea) play each other.
Arsenal won the Shield last season, defeating Chelsea 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
It was Arsene Wenger’s final trophy in North London.
What time is kick-off?
The game will be played on Sunday, August 5.
Wembley Stadium will host the match.
Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm. If the match is level after 90 minutes, extra-time is skipped and it goes straight to a penalty shootout. The ‘ABBA’ penalty format will be used.
Michael Oliver is scheduled to be the referee.
