WASHINGTON — Forward of the Thanksgiving vacation, the Pentagon despatched practically 52,000 kilos of roasted turkey to American troops stationed on the U.S. border with Mexico and world wide.

In all, the Departments’ Protection Logistics Company delivered greater than 300,000 kilos of conventional Thanksgiving meals, like ham and candy potatoes, to service members all through the Center East, Europe, Africa and on the southwestern border.

This 12 months service members obtained:

  • 9,738 complete turkeys

  • 51,234 kilos of roasted turkey

  • 74,036 kilos of beef

  • 21,758 kilos of ham

  • 67,860 kilos of shrimp

  • 16,284 kilos of candy potatoes

  • 81,360 pies

  • 19,284 truffles

  • 7,836 gallons of eggnog

“A lot of America’s navy women and men are away from residence this Thanksgiving, making sacrifices to safe our freedom and to guard our southern border,” mentioned Military Brig. Gen. Mark Simerly, who oversees the large logistical operation on behalf of the Protection Division.
