A PHARMACIST has been struck off after occurring a three-day cocaine bender.


Employees at Boots needed to name an ambulance for Peter Barr after he complained of a racing coronary heart and problem respiration.

Colleague Helen Stanton  informed a health to follow listening to that he had “taken off his tie, appeared pale and was unable to articulate what was unsuitable”.


Barr, a pharmacist of six years, then lay on the ground within the dispensary in March final 12 months.


He admitted to colleague Karen Robinson he had been at a celebration, including: “Between you and me, it wasn’t simply alcohol I used to be doing.”


A Basic Pharmaceutical Council report revealed: “When she requested him what else he had been doing, he replied ‘cocaine’.”

Barr, from Northern Eire, refused a medicine take a look at on the day and was suspended from his function on the chemist in Grimsby. Dispenser Amanda Midday informed the  panel that Barr claimed “he’d been taking cocaine for 3 days straight”.


Barr, who didn’t attend the listening to, was suspended from the  pharmacy register for eight months.


He was informed that  his actions “can be thought to be deplorable by the general public and by fellow professionals”.
