Airways cancelled over 1,900 flights across the nation after winter storm Avery hit the Northeast stronger than anticipated with as much as a foot of snow on Thursday.



In line with flight-tracking website FlightAware.com, a complete of two,608 flights flying in or out of the USA had been cancelled Thursday and Friday. An extra 12,500 flights had been delayed over the 2 days.
